Are you interested in buying a pet? Here are the top 10 questions you should ask yourself before you rush to the pet store.
1. Do you have the time to give this pet the love and attention it deserves?
2. Is it legal to have where you're from?
3. Do you know someone who could take care of it if you had to go out of town?
4. Do you have the money to take it to a vet if it gets sick or needs to be put down?
5. If it's a baby, are you aware that it's not always going to be small and cute? That it will grow up and get larger?
6. Is anyone in your house allergic to it?
7. Do you have the time to clean it's cage at least once a week?
8. Are you ready for the commitment that a pet brings as some can live to be 15 years or older?
9. Do you have the patience as some pets need to be trained not to bite, to come when they're called, or to be handled at all?
10. Are you aware that not all pets are the same? A hedgehog may not be as cuddly as a cat. One hedgehog may be friendlier than another. Some pets may be meaner than others while some may not being held at all.
